Item Magnesium content in natural rubber latex(Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka:Agalawatta, 1998) Karunanayake, L.; Sarath Kumara, P.H.; Nandasena, W.W.; Wanigatunga, L.; Gamage, V.; Lokuge, C.Measurements and control of magnesium content in natural rubber latex is very important in centryfuged latex industry as the Mg content affects the stability of latex, very significantly. In this study, an investigation was carried out to find the effect of seasonal and regional variations in Mg content of natural rubber latex. A titration method was used to estimate the Mg content in latices. The Mg content of NR latex was found to be dependent on seasonal variationsItem Physical, chemical and mineralogical characteristics of commercially available Eppawela and Gafsa rock phosphates(Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka:Agalawatta, 1995) Dissanayake, A.; Jayalath, C.Physical, chemical and mineralogical characteristics of commercially available Eppawela rock phosphate (ERP) was compared with a well known rock phosphate, Gasfa from Tunisia. The phosphate content of Eppawela material was low, around 16% and is two times lesser than Gasfa. Also, the extractable P in ERP was two times lesser than that of Gasfa, indicating its inferiority as a P source. A high amount of silica was present in the Eppawela material as an impurity and it therefore requires to ensure the quality control measures in a systematic way before it is marketed.
